1. Sign up for blogger account

Creating a Google account is the first step towards blog creation. Visit and create an account by filling in your credentials which include an email address, username, date of birth and your secret password.

2. Create a blog

After successfully creating a Google account, visit to begin the blog creation process. Using your gmail address and password, login to the blogger account. Once signed in, click on create new blog icon on the top left side of the page. This takes you to a page that requests you to enter your blog title and address. Complete this operation by inputting your preferred domain name ( and blog name then click continue.

You can later point a custom domain you have purchased (from Godaddy or Namecheap) to the blog url.

4. Create your first blog post using tool bar

By now, you should have settled on how you want your blog to look. Now create your first post.On the left hand side of the blog homepage is a menu that contains a “post” button. Clicking on the post icon opens up a text box for you to create your first blog post. Start by writing the title of your post on the “title” textbox and proceed to write your message on the body textbox.

There are a couple of texts editing functions displayed that you can use to style your post as you like. You can change you text to bold, italics, create links, change fonts and prioritize your sub headings and much more by selecting from the functions at the top of the textbox.

5. Adjust the post settings

On the right side, you can notice the post settings, under which you have the following options

Labels – add the blogger labels or tags to which the blog post is related to.

Schedule – Either publish the post immediately or you can schedule it for later

Permalink – Two options are available. According to the post title,the Permalink is created automatically . If you want to create your own Permalink, click     custom  link and add your own keywords.

Location – you can set this or leave it blank.
options  – this is the comment section where you can allow or disallow  readers to comment about your blog post.

6. Blogger Layouts

This section is used to arrange the format of your blog; the way you would like your readers to view it.Choosing the position of your headers, footers, navigation bars is done by clicking on the “edit” button on each element. Gadgets are tools used to enhance the functions available at blogger. Photos, countdown tickers, adsense ads etc, can be added to the blog by clicking on “add gadget” button.Editing and deselecting the gadgets removes them from your blog.

7. Template section – edit html according to the needs

The template section allows the user to change the general appearance of the blog to suit your needs. When you want to change the background color of your template or position textboxes appropriately, change your fonts, and much more, the customize template option is used. If you have some basic knowledge about web programming, choose the “edit HTML” button to give your blog an appealing look.

8. Settings

On the menu at the home page is a settings button that allows you to set your blog privacy levels. Choose your preferred language formatting, regulate readers comments, set publishing permissions, set your blog readers age restrictions and much more on this page.

9. Adding social icons

Allowing readers to share your content with the rest of the online community is a good way to get your blog known to more readers. The layout section allows you to add gadgets.

You can pick any of the available social media plugins and position them accordingly by clicking on the “add gadget” icon.

10. Publish your post.

On the page where you have created your blog post, there is a preview button at the top, click it and have a quick look at the way your post will appear to your audience. Once you are satisfied with the way your blog appears, it is time to let the world view your blog post.
